Silicon carbide is a sharper and harder grain when compared to aluminium oxide, providing a finer and smoother finish. Silicon carbide has a higher friability than other types of sanding grit, thus providing a longer life on harder materials with rougher surfaces. When it comes to obtaining a superior finishing, no other type of abrasive can compare to silicon carbide.

This product is perfect for wet sanding applications, such as polishing stone and marble and automotive polishing applications. In coarser grits, this abrasive is good for removing rust, deburring metal and glass, and refinishing wood. Silicon carbide is the only grit suitable for use on glass, stone and marble, proving to be highly effective on harder metals.
